Dr. WANG Lu graduated with BSc and MSc in textile engineering from Donghua University, Shanghai, China, and was awarded a Ph.D. in biomedical textile at ENSITM of University of Haute-Alsace, Mulhouse, France. She has been serving as a professor in Textiles Engineering and Biomedical Textiles in Donghua University since 2003. She is current a director of Key Lab. of Textile Science & Technology of Ministry of Education, China. Her main research interests include functional design, forming and evaluation of biomedical textiles (such as vascular prosthesis, hernia mesh, suture, functional dressing, degradable ureteral stent, etc.) as well as green wool textiles. Dr. WANG has been responsible of a number of research projects, including “Biomedical Textile Science and Technology” 111 project of Ministry of Education (B07024), National “863” project (2002AA327010), Science & Technology Commission project of Shanghai Municipality (10520706600), Science & Technology key project of Jiangsu province (BE2004023, BE2008021, BE2014036), National Nature Science Foundation of China (NSFC, 30972942, 51003014, 81371648), Doctoral Fund of Ministry of Education of China (20100075110001), as well as dozens of industrial co-projects. She also has been involved in several international cooperation projects, including EU Asia-link project, Australia CAWIN project, American NSF project (CTS0424716). She has published 69 Chinese patents (50 awarded), more than 160 scientific papers as well as 6 books as a co-editor and/or contributing author. She has gotten 6 Science and Technology Progress Prizes awarded by provincial government or Chinese Textile Industry Federation. Dr. WANG has extensive experience in textile production and close relationship with industries.
